How are anchor charts used?

Anchor charts, such as the one in this resource which contains all three strategies for comparing and ordering decimals (Line Them Up, Draw Them Out, Use a Number Line), can be used with students. The remaining three pages contain separate, whole-page posters for each strategy. Here are some suggestions as to how you might utilize these anchor charts with your students:

What is an anchor chart for a 2 digit number?

This anchor chart shows standard, written, and expanded form for a 2-digit number. Print out this anchor chart as an example of showing place value for three-digit numbers. Use this anchor chart to show an example of place value for a number that goes up to the thousands place.

What is a printable anchor chart?

This printable anchor chart is designed to help your students “Zoom In” on the number line and visualise the breakdown of ones, tenths, and hundredths on a number line. Print the posters and display them in your classroom for students to reference when doing independent work.
